Red Admiral Butterfly Poem
By Pamela Storch
Dear Red Admiral butterfly,
Emerged from your cocoon,
Enjoy the violet flowers,
And the light of midday noon,
Enjoy the leaves of vibrant green,
Take flight and fly away,
And see the world from high above,
Beyond what is today,
Dear Red Admiral butterfly,
Enjoy the nectar sweet,
For no more is there heavy weight,
Like caterpillars eat,
No more do you crawl on the ground,
You're light as summer's breeze,
Enjoy the flying light as wind,
And live with grace and ease.
Pamela Storch’s Red Admiral Butterfly is a poetic celebration of transformation and renewal. With tender imagery and uplifting tone, the poem speaks directly to the butterfly—encouraging it to embrace its newfound freedom and rise above what once held it down.
Inspired by the Red Admiral’s journey from caterpillar to butterfly, this piece symbolizes personal growth, freedom from burdens, and the joy of living with grace and ease. A lovely reflection on nature, hope, and spiritual awakening.
Inspired by a beautiful Red Admiral butterfly Pamela Storch encountered while traveling in Scotland.
