On the Way to the Sea Poem

By Pamela Storch

On the way into the sea,
A painted pathway flows,
A cloudscape gains intensity,
As ominous it grows,

For darkened are its shadows cast,
Upon the light blue sky,
Yet neon blues as clear as day,
Ask not, how, when or why,

Like thoughts upon a canvas clear,
Are musings of the mind,
Like shadows cast upon the sky,
With clear blue light behind,

For are you now the doom and gloom,
Afraid of its decay,
Or are you now the canvas,
And the painter, clear as day.

“On the Way to the Sea” by Pamela Storch is a meditative poem that blends nature’s sky with the inner landscape of thought. As a cloud-filled sky shifts above a painted ocean path, the poem asks deep questions of identity, perception, and perspective. Are you the dark clouds of thought — or the luminous canvas beneath? A poetic invitation to explore light, shadow, and inner clarity.
