Ibex in a Parking Lot Poem

By Pamela Storch

Ibex in a parking lot,

Jumped on a nearby car,

Across from Dead Sea deserts,

People watching from afar,

It seems it could not reach the trees,

The leaves are better there,

And so a car was perfect,

If you rent a car, beware!

There must be hoof insurance,

For this rare endangered breed,

If renting in Ein Gedi,

Full insurance do you need,

I hope that it enjoyed the meal,

As tourists’ eyes grew wide,

But next time in Ein Gedi,

Don't park by the trees outside.

An ibex is seen standing on a car in a parking lot, capturing the interest of onlookers. The text humorously suggests the need for insurance in case the ibex causes any damage. The poem reflects on the unexpected encounter Pamela Storch had with this ibex in Ein Gedi.
