Duck Pond by a Peaceful Bridge Poem

By Pamela Storch

Duck pond by a peaceful bridge,

The water mirrored green,

The walkways slightly bending,

To the tranquil nature scene,

For are the ducks beholden,

To the water's mirrored gaze,

Or are they free to be themselves,

And go their separate ways?

For if the mirror does reflect,

The movements of just one,

Then how can any single duck,

Be free to roam and run?

When understand this message,

Does the one who roams the pond,

Then surely it will set you free,

To roam in worlds beyond.

Pamela Storch’s Duck Pond by a Peaceful Bridge is a serene yet thought-provoking poem that uses the gentle setting of a duck pond to explore deep themes of identity, reflection, and inner freedom.

With its tranquil nature imagery and philosophical questions, this poem invites readers to look beyond surface appearances and discover the liberating truth beneath. It’s a peaceful meditation on choice, awareness, and the essence of the self—perfect for those who enjoy nature poetry with spiritual insight.

Inspired by a beautiful duck pond Pamela Storch visited during her travels to Norway.
